It’s because even if we “sort of” know the song, we won’t be able to perform it well at that moment. Here’s the reason why 99% of the time we don’t perform requests on the fly: It’s not because we can’t do the song at that moment. In other words, you wouldn’t ask us to play a particular song if you didn’t think we were capable of doing it, right? So yes, I for one do thank you for those song requests, and I’m sure the rest of Dirty Betty would agree. When you ask us to play something specific on the fly, it gives us the vote of confidence that you appreciate what we’re already playing. Saying “thank you” for requests might seem a little weird, but bear with me a moment and I’ll explain. I’m going to write about this subject in more detail in a later post, but I wanted to go ahead and touch on it a bit tonight.įirst off, I want to say THANK YOU for asking us to play your favorite songs. Just like at many other venues, a few people at the Eagles came to us with some song requests. I’ve GOT to get that footage… About Song Requests (part 1) Plus: Wait till you see Jim the guitarist’s Zipper Face. In any case, he sang lead on a song for the first time ever, and it was a SCREAM. I know it’s hard to tell from the photo, but I was a zombie schoolgirl - pigtails and all - and Paul was something like an undertaker. Meanwhile, here’s me and Paul the bass player (who happens to also be my husband!) in our scary Halloween faces. I’m working on getting some of the video ready to show off. Our Halloween celebration at the Eagles in Coeur d’Alene was loads of fun.
